Norilsk Nickel has decreased its own forecast on non-ferrous and precious metals output in 2016.
In particular, nickel output is expected to fall to 195-200 thousand tons from 206-212 thousand tons of the previous forecast. The decrease would be the result of repairs at Talnakh processing factory. In 2015 Nornickel produced 266 thousand tons of nickel.
Copper production is expected to total 342-352 thousand tons, down from 369 thousand tons in 2015, because of the lesser copper contents in ore and the repair at the Talnakh factory.
Platinum and palladium output might total 542-586 thousand troy ounces and 2296-2392 thousand troy ounces respectively against 656 thousand troy ounces of platinum and 2689 thousand troy ounces of palladium in 2015. (Ukrainian metal)
