Automated Warman pumping station equipped with thickeners underflow heating unit was installed at Norilsk Concentrator.
After closure of agglomeration shop of Nickel Plant one of its sections was additionally equipped with automated Warman pumping unit and thickeners underflow heating unit. Later, the section became a part of Norilsk Concentrator, which is a structural division of Production Association of Concentrators of Polar Division.
Warman pump unit serves to transport blended thickened slurry of nickel concentrates from Norilsk Concentrator to Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant by means of high-duty pumps and pipelines system. Underflow heating unit will prevent settlers from freezing in winter.
Two contractors, Polar Construction Company and Norilsknickelremont, carried out construction and installation from November 2014 to June 2016.
Dimensions of the heating unit are 58х12 meters. Warman pumping station includes three 7х6 meters pumps: one – in operation, another – under maintenance and the third – in reserve. Underflow heating unit includes five water heaters. The equipment will be started up when cold weather sets in. (Norilsk Nickel/Ukrainian metal)
