Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works is going to repair a number of large machinery, including its blast furnace No. 9.
In January-June the works was forced to keep its machinery idle because of the money deficiency, problems with fuel and raw materials deliveries, and the tense situation in the East.
“Forced idleness was used to repair machinery to ensure stable manufacturing process in the second half of the year. Soon we will start repairing the sintering machine No. 11 and blast furnace No. 9”, said the company CEO Vyacheslav Mospan.
Blast furnace No. 10 was on repair from June 10 till July 5, and was blown on July 6.
In H1 DMK produced 1.02 million tons of rolled metal, 1.02 million tons of steel and 1.04 million tons of pig iron, down by 15.6%, 13.8% and 8.1% YoY respectively.
In June it produced 132 thousand tons of rolled metal, 118 thousand tons of steel and 118 thousand tons of pig iron, down from 167 thousand tons, 180 thousand tons and 182 thousand tons in May respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
