According to its program of technical modernization Zaporizhstal has stopped its blast furnace No. 4 for capital repairs with elements of reconstruction and modernization.
The total cost of the overhaul will reach 170 million UAH. The modernization will decrease coke expense and provide for the smooth operation of the equipment.
In 2014 BF No. 4 underwent a massive overhaul valued at 950 million UAH.
This blast furnace is capable of producing 1112 thousand tons of pig iron per year. After reconstruction 2 years ago it produced over 2 million tons of pig iron. (Ukrainian metal)
