In May iron ore raw materials export prices went up by 3-7%, says Ukrpromvneshexpertisa, but sees them down by 10-15% in June.
According to the company statement, increase of Chinese iron ore indexes continues to have a positive effect on Ukrainian export prices.
In April average export price went up by 34.4% MoM, or by $11.5, to $45 per ton.
“We believe Ukrainian prices in May have grown slightly – by 3-7%. But in June the price trend will probably revert to falling due to China taking actions against futures market speculations”, said Ukrpromvneshexpertisa expert Dmitry Zheltyakov.
In April Ukraine exported 3833 thousand tons of iron ore raw materials, with 10.2 million tons exported from the year start, down by 0.5 million tons YoY. Japan saw its imports rise by 117 thousand tons, while Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland decreased imports by 212 thousand tons, 255 thousand tons and 291 thousand tons respectively.
