In the first quarter of 2016 Ukraine produced 6.11 million tons of carbon steel, up by 18.6% YoY.

Pig iron output increased by 24.4%, to 5.88 million tons, that of rolled metal – by 18.4%, to 5.31 million tons, with coke output up by 34.9%, to 3.3 million tons. At the same time steel pipe production decreased by 15.4%, to 186.7 thousand tons, all YoY.

Thus steel smelting has been increasing for the fourth month in a row, with average daily production significantly up: 71 thousand tons in March, as opposed to 67.9 thousand tons in February, 62.5 thousand tons in January and 62.1 thousand tons in December 2015. (Ukrainian metal)
