Zaporizhstal has asked the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to impose mirror duties on Russian metal or make Russia cancel its 5% duty on Ukrainian metal.
“There is no embargo, but there are additional 5% duties. This is a strange situation – Ukrainian metal makers have to pay 5% when exporting to Russia, and Russian do not. What is our government thinking about? Either make Russia cancel this duty or impose a mirror one. Now Russia sells a lot of metal in Ukraine at dumping prices”, said the company CEO Rostislav Shurma.
At the same time Russia is not a key market for Zaporizhstal, where it sells some 7-10% of its products. (Ukrainian Metal)
