In January Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky produced 151.9 thousand tons of steel.
“Instead of the planned 215.2 thousand tons we produced 151.9 thousand tons due to underproduction of pig iron (157.9 thousand tons out of 211.6 thousand tons) and scrap shortages (500 tons of the planned 27 thousand tons). Because of this we were not able to meet our continuous casting billets target (down by 64 thousand tons)”, said the company in its statement.
DMKD wasn’t able to put its blast furnace #2 into operation on January 12, operating only 2 blast furnaces. The works sinter shop produced only 266.5 thousand tons of sinter out of 364.7 thousand tons target. (Ukrainian metal)
