Resuming electricity exports will help both state and private coal companies to work steadily and keep their employees.

“Today, when the coal is temporarily unneeded, the mines are dieing, people are not getting salary and get fired. Coal mining decline means the increase of the Russian fuel and gas in electricity production in Ukraine. So everything possible has to be done to increase its exports”, believes Institute of economy and prognoses director Valery Geyets.

In 2013 for electricity exports Ukraine mined 7 million tons of coal, providing work for 20 thousand miners. In 2015 Ukrainian electricity exports fell 3.2 times YoY to $150.05 million. (Ukrainian metal)
