Ukraine has received a grant from the government of Great Britain for the social support of the miners and the population of the mining regions, where coal companies will be closed.
In 2015 four mines were closed down, with 2 more mines being closed down in February.
In particular, Lvivugol will lose its Zarechnaya mine, Krasnoarmeyskugol – Rodinskaya mine, Volynugol – Novovolynskaya mine #9, while 2 mines are scheduled to be closed down at Dzerzhinskugol – Severnaya and Yuzhnaya mines. (Ukrainian metal)
