In December 2015 Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky, a part of the Industrial Union of Donbass, wasn’t able to reach its output target due to the lack of coke, iron ore and scrap.
This issue has been vital to the converter shop during the whole year, resulting in the over-expenditures of liquid pig iron to produce steel.
In 2015 DMKD produced 2.33 million tons of rolled metal, 2.32 million tons of steel, 2.25 million tons of pig iron and 3.94 million tons of sinter, all down by 8%, 8.2%, 3.7% and 4.1% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
