The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has accepted the usage of budget funds to increase capital stocks of mining companies in order to clear salary debts to miners.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry 500 million UAH will be used to pay 2015 salary to miners.
In 2016 the Cabinet of Ministers plans to privatize all coalmining companies and close down those it can’t privatize.
In 2015 power-generating coal output in Ukraine decreased 1.6 times YoY, to 39.76 million tons due to the military activity in Donbass. 16.95% of this coal was provided by state mines. (Ukrainian metal)c
