The self-proclaimed republics cut bridges, rails and works for scrap.
“Everything that can be cut into metal scrap is cut. Monuments, even some old museum exhibits of trains are cut for scrap. As well as rails, all infrastructure, cable, everything is taken down, nothing remains”, says Metallurgprom president Alexander Kalenkov.
He believes the flow of such scrap to Ukraine should be limited. Thus the country will not aid the destruction of Donbass infrastructure that sooner or later will have to be restored anyway.
He added that such scrap also contained unexploded shells, making it very dangerous. (Ukrainian metal)
