Ferrous metals scrap is Ukraine’s main strategic raw materials of secondary resources, said 86% of the experts, surveyed under the “Strategic raw material resources for Ukraine’s development by 2020”. 64% said the scrap export limitations would promote the country raw material security.
“Ukraine’s suffering from the considerable scrap shortage. While scrap exports in 10 months exceeded 1 million tons. I believe if the export duty is increased, scrap exports would fall by at least 10%”, said the state-owned Gosvneshinform metal markets analysis department expert Vadim Odarenko. (Ukrainian metal)
