The ministry for economical development and trade has developed a new decree on metal scrap to increase transparency of business and metal companies supplies.
ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih public relations director deputy Vladimir Tkachenko added that the most important thing for exporters now was the timely VAT reimbursement, as well as the decrease of the ground rent, as it went up 7.4 times for the past 4 years.
Metal manufacturers also want to implement the moratorium for railroad transportation tariffs increase for year, and for company checks for 6 months.
The decree also presupposes the temporarily increase of scrap exports duty.
“I’m not sure as for the time period, but at least for 3 years. And we have no idea about the size of the duty. We suggested 50 euro per ton, but the ministry hasn’t decided yet”, said industrial politics minister deputy Alexander Kalenkov.
“We want to cancel all differences between industrial and household scrap to make the market transparent. Both metal makers and scrap association are interested in a more transparent and understandable market”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
