On December 10, for the first time since 1992 Almaznaya mine of DTEK Dobropolyeugol mined its 1 million tons of coal.

The mine’s high results were made possible thanks to DTEK investments of 203 million UAH over the past 3 years.

“The success of Almaznaya will make us try to reach other goals. For a half of 2014 we mined no coal”, said Dobropolskoye Ore Group director Konstantin Vyaliy.

Almaznaya mine was put into operation in 1930 with the project capacity of 390 thousand tons of coal per year. As of January 1, 2015 its reserves total 60 million tons.

In 2014 the mine yielded 585 thousand tons of coal. (Ukrainian metal)
