In January-September Ukrainian metal companies increased their unrecovered losses 3 times, to 31.2 billion UAH, said Metallurgprom.
This increase was the result of the considerable rise of expenses. Iron ore prices in Ukraine increased by 50%, iron ore pellets – by 17%, refractory materials – by 58-89%, ferroalloys – by 73-108%, coke – by 100%, scrap – by 40%, natural gas – by 58%, and electricity – by 36%, all YoY. At the same time sinter ore, concentrate and sinter prices decreased by 10%, 3% and 3% respectively. Steel export prices in UAH increased by 49%.
In January-September Ukrainian metal companies received 13.9 billion UAH of VAT reimbursement.
Despite the difficult financial conditions Metallurgprom companies increased their investments in capital repairs and modernization by 32%, to 5.3 billion UAH. Metallurgprom companies’ net income in January-September increased by 19% YoY, to 150.7 billion UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
