Ukraine will use 250 thousand tons of anthracite coal from SAR in less than a month. So this coal will not solve this winter’s problem.
“Small supplies will not help, provided coal delivery from Donbass and Russia is blocked. Ukraine will consume African coal in a month or less, depending on the weather”, said the independent expert Vladimir Saprykin.
As to alternative coal sources, he said that some countries might supply in theory.
“Australia in particular. But that’s not that easy. Australia is far away, and they need time to sign agreements and to ship. The matter should be settled within a month”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
