Metinvest, owner of the number of Ukrainian works, including Zaporizhstal, threatens to stop them.
According to the company statement, the reason is that in November all of its companies have been excluded from the system of automatic VAT reimbursement.
As of November 1, the state owes 2.33 billion UAH of VAT to the group companies.
“If we don’t get this reimbursement, we will have to stop the operation of our companies. The whole metal industry would collapse. And dozens of thousands of employees will lose their jobs. We call unto the State Fiscal Service, the Cabinet of Ministers and the President of Ukraine to prevent this situation and return to Metinvest what has to be returned”, said the group CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov.
