In the fourth quarter Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky (DMKD) will decrease its output by 25% due to the planned repairs, of the blast furnace #12 in particular.

The overhaul would last for 54 days.

DMKD also plans to repair its sintering machine #12, a ladle and the continuous casting mill, which will enable it to produce 130-210 mm round billets.

November will also see an overhaul of 400/200 mill.

“We will not get a positive financial result for 2 months, as we will be working at 75% capacity. On the other hand, the market is depressed. That would be a hard time, but we have to overcome it”, said the company CEO Maxim Zavgorodny.

According to him, the next decrease in capacity is expected in August 2016, when the company will start the repairs of its blast furnace #9. (Ukrainian metal)
