Zaporizhstal has concluded a contract to carry out design and survey work on construction of the hot-rolled coils complex within the converter shop. The sum of the contract is about 100 million UAH.
At the end of August Zaporizhstal finished the first stage of the oxygen-converter shop construction. The basic engineering, carried out by Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH and SMS Siemag, cost 8.5million euro.
Moreover, in December 2014 Zaporizhstal began preparing and clearing the territory for the construction of the oxygen-converter shop. So far the company has removed over 300 thousand tons of materials from that site.
Design and survey work will be completed within 6 months.
The construction of the shop will allow the works to finally stop the outdated open-hearth manufacturing and would decrease its pollution by 25%. (Ukrainian metal)
