In January-May Ukrainian metal companies exported 8.4 million tons of products worth $3.5 billion, down by 26.3% and 40.7% YoY respectively.

Export share in the total volume of rolled metal produced reached 86% as opposed to 84% in the same period last year, with 46% of the products exported being semis.

In particular, in January-May Ukraine exported 6.8 million tons of rolled metal (including 3.1 million tons of semi-finished products), down by 28% YoY, 690 thousand tons of pig iron, down by 40% YoY, 340 thousand tons of ferroalloys, on the last year level.

Rolled sheet exports dropped by 30%, semis – by 31%, long rolled products – by 20%, all YoY.

Exports to the CIS-countries fell by 49%, from 1.46 million tons to 740 thousand tons, including by 57% to Russia – from 1.07 million tons to 460 thousand tons.

CIS share in the geographical structure of exports decreased from 13% to 9%, while that of Russia – from 9% to 5%. (Ukrainian Metal)
