The Eurasian Economic Committee is opening the second anti-dumping investigation as to some types of steel pipes from Ukraine. As the result import duties could be prolonged.

In 2011 the following duties were imposed on Ukrainian pipes: casing pipes – 18.9% of customs price, compressor pipes – 19.9%, oil and gas pipeline hot-deformed pipes (820 mm) – 19.4-37.8%.

The duties run out on November 18 2015.

According to the EEC information, Ukrainian pipes prices kept falling despite the duties.

“The ongoing price dumping resulted in the decrease of financial indexes of EEU companies. The cancellation of import duties on Ukrainian pipes could result in increased dumping that would damage the industry”, an EEC representative said. (Ukrainian metal)
