Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky (Dnieprodzerzhinsk, Dniepropetrovsk region) needs 107.7 thousand tons of coke per month.
According to the company statement, that’s the monthly need of three working blast furnaces.
In June the works plans to increase consumption of coke, produced at Alchevskkoks (Alchevsk, Lugansk region). It should be noted that Alchevskkoks cannot use local mines coal to produce coke, so it has to import it from Russia and USA.
In May DMKD consumed 394 kilograms of coke to produce 1 ton of pig iron. (Ukrainian metal)
