In January-April Ukrainian coal mining companies mined 12718.9 thousand tons of ordinary coal, down 2.2 times, or by 15.14 million tons, YoY.

According to a source in the Ministry for energy and coal industry, coking coal output fell by 65%, or by 4943.2 thousand tons, to 2.66 million tons, while that of energy coal – by 50.4%, or by 10205.8 thousand tons, to 10051.9 thousand tons, all YoY.

In the given period the Ministry coal companies mined 2330.5 thousand tons of coal, down by 72.7%, or by 6203.4 thousand tons, YoY, including coking coal – by 69.3%, or by 1660.4 thousand tons, to 736.9 thousand tons, while energy coal mining fell by 74%, or by 4.54 million tons, to 1593.6 thousand tons.

Donetsk region mines provided 4.41 million tons of coal (down by 63.8% YoY), Lugansk mines – 1305.3 thousand tons (down by 85.2%), Dniepropetrovsk region – 6235.1 thousand tons (up by 2.3%), Lviv region – 663.3 thousand tons (up by 11.7%) and Volyn mines – 102.3 thousand tons, down by 4.1% YoY.
