In January Ukrainian metal companies produced 1.87 million tons of carbon steel, down by 25.2% YoY.
At the same time, pig iron manufacture fell by 26.4%, to 1.72 million tons, while that of rolled metal – by 25.1%, to 1.71 million, all YoY.
Metallurgical coke output decreased by 39.3%, to 905.5 thousand tons, that of steel pipes – by 10.1%, to 78.3 thousand tons.
In 2014 Ukrainian metal companies produced 23.79 million tons of rolled metal, 27.16 million tons of steel and 24.81 million tons of pig iron, all down by 17.7%, 16.9% and 14.8% YoY respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
