In 2014 Ukraine decreased its coal output by 22%.
According to the deputy minister for energy and coal industry Yuriy Zyukov, the country mined 65 million tons of coal, down by 22% YoY. Of 150 mines only 69 are working.
Because of the coal shortage Ukraine plans to import 620 thousand tons from Russia, despite its military support of the terrorists. This coal would cost around $73 per ton.
The ministry also plans to import coal from the SAR, Australia and Vietnam. (Ukrainian metal)
