In January-March major pipe companies of Ukraine produced 337.1 thousand tons of ferrous metals pipes, down by 15.4% YoY.

In March pipe output was on the level of 135.7 thousand tons, up by 17.5% MoM.

Khartsyzsk Pipe Works has dramatically decreased its pipe output from 47.5 thousand tons in the first quarter of 2013 to 25.1 thousand tons in the first quarter of 2014. On the other hand, March results were almost twice as high as those for January-February combined – 15.7 thousand tons against 9.4 thousand tons.

Two of the Interpipe companies – NTZ and NMTZ – also decreased their output: from 96.4 thousand tons to 81.9 thousand tons and from 55.6 to 51.7 thousand tons respectively, while Niko Tube increased from 99.7 thousand tons to 110.6 thousand tons, all YoY.

Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, Kominmet, AG Stahl, Ltd and Dniepropetrovsk Tube Works all showed decrease in their output in the January-March period of the current year: from 13.6 to 11.3, 51.7 to 46.7, 7.2 to 3.5 and from 18.5 thousand tons to 9.5 thousand tons respectively.

At the same time Centravis increased stainless pipe output from 5 to 5.3 thousand tons. Lugansk Tube Plant was idle all this time. (Ukrainian metal)
