Ukraine’s largest vertically-integrated mining and steel group Metinvest has stated that a major overhaul of blast furnace No. 4 has been carried out within the framework of the production modernization program at its subsidiary – Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.
The main emphasis was on carrying out overhaul work to improve equipment reliability growth and to prolong the operating period of the iron-melting unit. The investment in the modernization of the blast furnace totaled about UAH 18.5 million ($2.3 million). (SteelOrbis/Ukrainian metal)
