According to the data issued by Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers, in the first five months of the current year Ukraine registered a 1% increase in its finished steel product output to 11.482 million tons, a 1.6% decrease in its crude steel output to 13.815 million tons and a 0.1% decline in its pig iron production to 12.086 million tons, all YoY.
The country’s production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 9.6% YoY to 7.396 million tons.
In the January-May period this year Ukraine produced 28.639 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 9.578 million tons of iron ore pellets – up by 2.9% and 1.7% respectively compared to the same period of last year.
In May Ukraine produced 2.757 million tons of crude steel – up by 0.3%, 2.202 million tons of finished steel products – down by 2.4% and 1.517 million tons of metallurgical coke – up by 4.8%, all on MoM basis. (SteelGuru)
