According to the data issued by Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers, in the first three months of the current year Ukraine registered a 2.4% decrease in its finished steel product output to 6.547 million tons, a 1.8% increase in its crude steel output to 8.322 million tons and a 2% rise in its pig iron production to 7.272 million tons, all year on year.
The country production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 8.1% year on year to 4.428 million tons.
In the January to March period Ukraine produced 16.890 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 5.453 million tons of iron ore pellets, up by 2% and down by 4% respectively compared to the same period last year.
In March alone Ukraine produced 2.872 million tons of crude steel, up by 10.4%, 2.302 million tons of finished steel products, up by 12.7%, and 1.537 million tons of metallurgical coke, up by 11%, all on month on month basis. (SteelGuru)
