In the January to February period of the current year the crude steel production of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, the Ukrainian subsidiary of the global steel giant ArcelorMittal, totaled 958,100 tons, up by 7.6% YoY.
in the first two months of the year ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih registered a 6.3% increase YoY in its finished steel output to 847,400 tons. During the period in question, pig iron production at ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih increased by 9.8% YoY to 843,100 tons.
In February alone crude steel production at ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih decreased by 7.5% YoY to 409,700 tons, output of rolled steel went down by 1.9% YoY to 367,600 tons and production of pig iron moved down by 3.5% YoY to 364,800 tons.
The main reason for the reduced production level in February was the decrease in scrap supply in January caused by lack of agreement on raw material prices between scrap suppliers and steel companies in Ukraine. (SteelOrbis)
