According to the preliminary data, in the January-November period of the current year Ukraine registered an increase of 5.3% YoY in its finished steel product output to 27.952 million tons, a 7% increase in its crude steel output to 31.928 million tons and a 6.2% rise in its pig iron production to 26.504 million tons.
The country’s production of metallurgical coke went up by 6.3% YoY to 17.953 million tons during the first 11 months of 2011. In January to November Ukraine produced 60.050 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 12.596 million tons of sinter ore, up by 2.7% YoY and 2.9% YoY.
In November alone Ukraine produced 2.542 million tons of finished steel products, down by 2%, 2.876 million tons of crude steel, down by 5%, 2.421 million tons of pig iron, down by 6% and 1.602 million tons of metallurgical coke, down by 5%, all compared to October this year. (Steel Orbis)
