According to preliminary data, in the January to February period of this year Ukraine registered an increase of 13% YoY in its finished steel product output to 4.903 million tons and a 9% rise in its crude steel output to 5.535 million tons.
In the first two months of 2011 Ukraine saw a 4% YoY increase in its pig iron production to 4.617 million tons and a 10% YoY growth in its coke output to 3.162 million tons.
Meanwhile, in January to February this year Ukraine’s production of steel pipes went up by 66% YoY to 348,000 tons, while its output of hardware increased by 12% YoY to 42,000 tons.
In its iron ore segment in the two months in question Ukraine mined 12.501 million tons of iron ore, up by 2% YoY. Its iron ore concentrate production increased by 5% to 10.434 million tons, its pellet production went down by 5% to 3.388 million tons, while its agglomerate production rose by 6% to 6.646 million tons.
