According to the preliminary data, in the first eight months of the current year Ukraine’s finished steel product output was up by 9.8% YoY to 19 million tons and its crude steel output was up by 10.8% YoY to 21.363 million tons.
In January to August Ukraine saw an 8.7% YoY increase in its pig iron production to 18.047 million tons and a 7.3% YoY growth in its coke output to 12.209 million tons. Meanwhile, during the period in question the country’s production of steel pipes went down by 2.2% YoY to 1.052 million tons, while its output of hardware increased by about 20% YoY to 173,300 tons.
In its iron ore segment in January to August Ukraine mined 51.541 million tons of iron ore, up by 26.5% YoY. Its iron ore concentrate production increased by 25.6% YoY to 42.647 million tons, its agglomerate production went up by 13.6% YoY to 26.012 million tons, while its pellet production rose by 16.3% YoY to 14.933 million tons.
