Mr Lafarge said “Our company is represented in many countries of the world and in some of them economic situation is harder than in Ukraine. However only here we are forced to face up with a problem when the government does not return the money we have earned. Moreover, if to compare with other Ukrainian steel companies, our company is the first in the list of companies which are owed VAT return from the government.”
He added that “Actually not returned VAT it is a sum of our investments for a year and a half. As a result the investments are postponed for a year and a half and hampers development of the region.”
In accordance with his words the sum of not returned VAT is now over USD 300 million and it is a critical problem for the company. The absence of that money threatens an opportunity to develop and fulfill its liabilities, including investments. (Rusmet.ru)
