It is reported that the production of finished steel at the works has been reduced by 15.5% YoY as compared to the last year to 2.784 million tons, crude steel by 16.9% YoY to 3.278 million tons, pig iron up by 16.8% YoY to 2.732 million tons, sinter up by 12.2% to 4.759 million tons.
In December 2009 the works produced 229,000 tons of finished steel, 259,000 tons of steel, 218,000 tons of pig iron and 354,000 tons of sinter. Scrap supplies to the works in December were 47200 tons with calculated demand of 48,000 tons. Scrap remainder by January 1st was 8000 tons. (Rusmet)
