The Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works specialists have found a way to decrease the usage of the diesel fuel.
“The idea was suggested by the diesel electric locomotive operators, who transported hot slag from blast furnaces to the slag processing shop. To decrease fuel consumption the operators have changed the algorithm of their usual activities from 5-8 to 3. Now the usage of the diesel fuel has dropped by 10%”, the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko wrote on his Facebook page.
In three months the locomotive operators were able to save 33 tons of fuel, and they expect to save 132 tons this year, or 2.3 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
