Metinvest Group’s iron and steel works launched production of 49 new products last year.
The rolled plate segment accounts for most of new 18 product items, and the rolled coil segment for 16 products. Furthermore, production of 15 new sizes of rolled long products and sections came on line in 2016. Metinvest’s enterprises produced new grades of galvanized rolled products (S220GD, S250GD, DX52D, ASTM A653) for the construction sector that remained the main consumer of steel products in 2016. Also, the hot-rolled coiled stock with thickness1.2-1.5 mm, hot-rolled plates with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance, new sizes of angles and rolled steel bars and other goods were brought to market.
Production of hot-rolled plates, coils and angles, as well as shaped tubes, with double certification according to DSTU and Euronorms has been organized to meet the needs of Ukrainian fabricators. This allows customers to use the goods in production of steel structures both for local projects and for export.
As for the machine-building industry, Metinvest Group’s enterprises have expanded the product range of high-strength thermomechanically strengthened plates and coils, rolled products for boilers and pressure vessels (including simultaneous certification according to several standards), plates and coils for quenching and tempering in accordance with European standards (for high-strength components of machinery).
