Ukrmetallurgprom forecasts steel output on the level of 2 million tons in September, with pig iron also at 2 million tons and rolled metal at 1.7 million tons.
After the drop in June, affected by the railroad strike in Donetsk and Lugansk regions, July saw a certain stabilization of raw materials delivery to metal companies and shipping of produced goods, which allowed to increase output volumes.
In particular, Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works renewed operation after almost a month of idleness, Donetskstal increased pig iron output 2.4 times MoM, Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works increased pig iron output 2.7 times MoM, while Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky produced 1.5 times more pig iron MoM.
As of August 9, 24 out of 28 blast-furnaces, 17 out of 21 converters, 6 out of 9 open-hearth furnaces and 6 out of 16 electric furnaces were in operation. (Ukrainian metal)
