Vladimir Potanin, president of Norilsk Nickel, came to Norilsk. He visited various production sites, where the company carries out its strategic projects, and held business meetings with the Polar Division management to discuss reconfiguration of production, implementation of capacity increase programs, and improvement of the environmental situation in Norilsk industrial region.
According to Norilsk Nickel president, the company will maintain its approach to finance distribution, which unfailingly incorporates the aspects of modernization, environment and social welfare. These are the basic principles of the strategy adopted in 2013. The company’s management confirmed its guiding principles in May, on the annual Strategy Day.
“The strategy is to result in major reconfiguration of the entire production chain, substantial modernization, more efficient mining, and processing facilities revamping. We have already carried out extensive work on Nadezhda Plant, and are currently shutting Nickel Plant down. These are steps of a single plan, – Vladimir Potanin said. – A preliminary three-year phase is now being completed.
