Increase of Chinese iron ore indexes has positively affected Ukrainian iron ore export prices. Average price in April was $45 per ton, up by $11.5 per ton MoM, or by 34.4%.
“Ukrainian export prices in May went up by 3-7%. But we believe, that in June it will turn into a decrease of 10-15% due to China taking measures to decrease speculations on the futures market”, said Ukrpromvneshexpertisa expert Dmitry Zheltyakov.
In April Ukraine exported 3833 thousand tons of iron ore raw materials, with 10.2 million tons in January-April, down by 0.5 million tons YoY.
Japan saw the largest increase of exports – by 117 thousand tons YoY, while Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland witnessed the largest fall – by 212, 255 and 291 thousand tons respectively. (Ukrainian metal)
