In May Russia produced 5.953 million tons of steel, down by 1.5% YoY.
In January-May steel output in Russia totaled 29.835 million tons, up by 2% YoY.
Ukraine decreased steel output in May by 25.5% YoY, to 1.689 million tons. In 5 months steel output decreased by 15.8% YoY, to 8.91 million tons.
Kazakhstan produced 420 thousand tons of steel in May, up by 10% YoY, and 1.86 million tons in January-May, up by 10.4% YoY.
Steel output in Belarus in May dropped by 1.4% YoY, to 210 thousand tons, but increased by 9.4%, to 928 thousand tons in 5 months.
Uzbekistan decreased steel output by 3.2% YoY, to 60 thousand tons in May, and by 3.2% YoY, to 280 thousand tons, in January-May.
Moldova in May produced 30 thousand tons of steel, flat YoY, and 96 thousand tons in 5 months, up by 220%.
All in all in May the CIS-countries produced 8.363 million tons of steel, down by 7.1% YoY, and 42.671 million tons in January-May, down by 1.8% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
