Kazakhstan: coal exports via Russian ports up in January-July 2026

Between January and July, 7.8 million tons of Kazakh coal were transported by rail to Russian ports for onward shipment abroad.

This represents an increase of 1.3 million tons, or 20%, compared to the same period in 2025.

The European Union and Turkey were the primary destinations for these shipments.

This growth is attributed to rising natural gas prices in Europe and the search for alternative sources of raw materials. (Logistan)
