Ukraine: Interpipe joins construction of offshore wind farm in North Sea

The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has joined another European alternative energy project – an offshore wind farm (WEP) off the UK.

The construction of this wind farm, located 69 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk, is in its final stage – the installation of turbines.

Interpipe pipes have already been used in the assembly of poles for future “windmills”. The company’s products serve as a system of piers near the wind turbine poles, where boats for service personnel can moor. In total, almost 2,500 tons of pipes of various sizes were manufactured and shipped for this project.

Jorge Ruiz, Interpipe’s European Pipe Sales Manager, said: “The special feature of the pipes for this order is the wall thickness and the need to comply with geometric parameters, as well as the requirements for the metal’s resistance to corrosion in the marine environment. It is very important for us to meet the expectations of customers and end users”.

The launch of the new offshore wind farm project is scheduled for late 2026 – early 2027. The plant will produce at least 1.4 GWh of energy and will be able to provide electricity to more than 1.3 million households. (Interpipe)
