The cost of transporting Interpipe products to clients has increased 2.5-3.5-fold compared with pre-war times.
“The figures depend on transport schemes. While before the war logistics expenses accounted for 3-4% in the product prime cost, now they have increased at least 2.5-fold,” the company CEO Andrey Korotkov has said.
The products in the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk were blocked.
The company started transporting its products to Europe by trucks and railroad with further transshipment in ports. But the number of automobile transporters decreased, as no European company provided its trucks to transport products from Dnipro or Nikopol, while Ukrainian companies increased prices. Moreover, as the main flow of products headed to Romania, its ports were crowded and were unable to process all the cargo. The country also has no experience in transporting pipes and railroad wheels.
But the situation slowly improves. Now Interpipe’s main ports are Romanian. (Ukrainian metal)
