Zaporozhye Iron Ore Complex is not operating, as it is situated in the currently occupied Dneprorudnoye.
This is the only enterprise in Ukraine that mines iron ore at the depth of 1 km.
“If the pump stations don’t operate and don’t pump out water, in a week the water will rise from the 1-km level to the -30 level, and this could have bad consequences – the infection of surface waters and horizons with iron ore,” Alexander Starukh, head of the Zaporozhye Military Civilian Administration, has said.
