In April, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will increase iron ore concentrate manufacture to 500 thousand tons due to the plans to resume operation of its metal department.
The ore-processing factory No. 2 of the mining department did not stop operation after the Russian invasion, even though it decreased output volumes due to the breach of logistics routes and the shut down of blast furnaces.
“We have reoriented our manufacture. While we used to ship around 200 thousand tons of concentrate to Europe, in March we shipped 320 thousand tons. Last month, we reached 40% of our pre-war level in manufacture,” the company said.
The blast furnaces Nos. 6 and 8 will be launched.
Exports of concentrate to Poland are also expected to grow.
In May, AMKR hopes to reach 80-90% of its pre-war levels, provided the war ends. (Ukrainian metal)
