The Ministry of Economy has developed and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers a bill on the increase of the ferrous scrap export duty to EUR 200 per ton.
The decision was taken without discussion with the market players.
In January-September, Ukraine increased scrap export 27.2-fold YoY, to $175.6 million, and import – 2-fold, to $31.8 million.
For the past 5 years, the duty has been EUR 58 per ton. In May, it was prolonged for 5 years, till September 15, 2026. (Ukrainian metal)
