Ukraine: metal plants in occupied territory losing Turkish markets

In 2020, metal companies in the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic, a terrorist organization created and supported by Russia, decreased exports of pig iron to Turkey via Russia 1.5-fold YoY, to 287 thousand tons.

At the same time, Russian exports grew by 53%, to 974 thousand tons.

Pig iron prices increased from $350 to $550 per ton FOB Black Sea.

Exports from the DPR are at $10-40 below Russian and Ukrainian prices.

The decrease in exports symbolizes the problems with manufacture at iron and steel works. The export drop is the result of non-payment of wages, no repairs, as well as problems with raw materials and energy supplies. (Ukrainian metal)
